1991

In 1991 we already achieved a turnover of CHF 100 million and employed 671 Gilgen staff. Over the past 30 years, we have trained 125 apprentices in our company.

1991

In 1991, we launched our first platform screen door project in Toulouse. The completion of 216 installations for the Toulouse metro was an important milestone and a new start in a new sector.

1993

With the founding of Gilgen Holding in 1993, a new management structure was created. We now organised the individual operating companies in a decentralised manner close to the customer.

1996

In mid-1996, Gilgen AG was taken over by Kaba Holding, the global security company. Jakob Senior and his brother Niklaus retired from active business at this time.

2000

For the ADP (Automatic Doors for Public transport) business unit, 2000 was a very successful year, with the order for a retrofit for the Hong Kong Metro.
