2011

After 15 years in the Kaba Group, they parted company and in early 2011 Gilgen Door Systems became part of the Nabtesco Group, a Japanese international company.

2013

In order to better meet customer needs in all parts of Switzerland, including in the door sector, a new customer service unit was set up in Gilgen Door Systems in 2013. Due to its central location, the Utzenstorf site was chosen for this unit.

2018

As part of the family-internal company succession, Jakob Gilgen took over the management of Gilgen Door Systems AG in 1983 as the second generation. After 34 years of successful activity, this office was handed over to his deputy Martin Plüss on 1 January 2018.

2018

Gilgen Door Systems is expanding in Australia. In 2018, Gilgen becomes a shareholder in its Australian business partner Access Entry Pty Ltd and establishes its own branch in Sydney. We also won a major contract for Sydney Metro to equip the platform screen door systems for the 8 stations in the City Section. The project consists of over 2,7 km of facade with 288 automatic sliding doors.

2021

Our customer service sets a historic milestone in 2021: for the first time in 60 years, we carry out over 100,000 contract services on door and gate systems throughout Switzerland within 12 months.

2021

In autumn 2021, we celebrated our 60th anniversary. The customer event with 250 guests and the employee event with over 400 participants took place in the Bernese Kubus. One week later, the anniversary celebration took place at Europapark Rust for German customers and sales partners.
